Aidan's 1st Day of School

Hi everyone!! I am back. Sorry it has taken so long to post. Things have been a little crazy up here for a little while now. We made our move and are now comfortable in our house. I will post pictures of the house soon. I felt like I was hardly home at first because I had been going back to Brian's parents' house often to help the kids out with the transition, they were missing their cousins and Brian's parents a lot. They are doing great though, they love their new house. Aidan started junior kindergarten on Monday and that has been emotionally draining. At first he was really brave and walked right into the class by himself. Brian and I both cried that day, knowing that he was growing up and becoming such a big boy. He went for 2 days and was fine, and ever since, he is the one crying everyday. Now he doesn't want to go. The irony is that Kirsten is crying because she wants to go to school and can't.

Kirsten was so sad after we dropped Aidan at school. She cries everyday saying she wants to go see Aidan.

Fun family times

We had a long weekend up here and we had a great time. The kids were both sick with a 24 hour bug on Friday, so we tried to find something relaxing to do on Saturday. We decided to take the kids to see their first movie. We took them to Kung Fu Panda. It was pretty interesting. We got there after the movie started, so Kirsten was terrified to go into the dark and noisy theatre. After about 30 mins of slowly inching closer and closer, Brian finally got her to come in, and from then on she loved it. At the end of the movie, both of them were in the aisles dancing (shocking, I know).
On Sunday, we tried to take them fishing. Neither Brian nor I are what you would call "the fishing type". It was pretty funny. It took us about an hour just to get the reels set up and ready. The kids were very patient, but we had to strap Kirsten into the wagon after 5 mins. because she tried to go for a swim. On Monday, we went to Rib Fest. There are a lot of BBQ vendors from all over the US and Canada (yum, yum) that come set up and there is music, games and rides for the kids.
Now, if you actually read all of this, I hope you enjoy the pictures that follow.

HERE WE ARE FISHING, (well trying to fish)

Time to go home.

Fun and games at RibFest. Kirsten loves rides, but Aidan, not so much. The cars were the only thing he rode on. He did enjoy them though.

He Shoots...........

He Scores!!!!! Brian is one of the few people I know who can actually make the basket at these games. He won Aidan a guitar.

Kirsten & Shea on the motorcycles.

Kirsten and I, Melissa and Shea on the rollercoaster.

Skee-Ball anyone?

Dancing for Bamma and Bampa

Sorry it is so dark. Hopefully you can still see her dancing away :)

Another day another park

I love summer time, especially now that we live so far north. The winters are so long and cold up here, and I have always been much more of a warmer weather kind of girl. So, I try to enjoy our summer days as much as possible. Yesterday was one of those great summer days. We went to a park right on the beach. We brought some pizza for lunch and then enjoyed the splash pad, the parks and the sand. I love the parks up here and so do the kids.

Shealynn, Kirsten, Aidan and Erin

The park was great, right on the water.

"Can we get some help here?"

The water is actually Lake Ontario and it isn't the cleanest. Some people take their chances and swim in it, but we prefer to just throw rocks.

A nice view from the swings, huh?

A simple but fun day

Brian had the day off on Friday and we decided we would go to the zoo with the kids in the morning. When we got to the zoo it was absolutely mobbed so we decided to go down to the lake and let the kids throw rocks into the water. The water isn't clean enough to swim in, but the kids enjoyed the day there anyway.

Picking out the perfect rocks.

Everytime somebody threw a rock into the water, Kirsten cheered and clapped for them.

It was such a beautiful day. The weather was perfect.

Aidan's favorite part of the day.... Brian was pretending to throw him into the water.
